In the first year of training the apprentices learn for example:
- constructing drawing and samples on a scale of 1:1,
- characteristics of fluorescent materials, noble gases and mercury
- the handling of mercury
- how to bend, blow, straiten and ream tubes
- how to handle the tools
in the second year of training:
- the correct regulation of bench burner and hand torchs
- the correct handling of fluorescent materials
- the electronic basics for the use of fluorescent materials
- the correct handling with elecrodes
in the third year of training:
- how to process glass tubes with a small diameter
- handling with vacuum installations
- what you have to consider attaching the exhaust tube and filling with mercury
- how to assure the equably of luminance as well as the accuracy of fit
- the correct indication of neon tubes
Professionalism
After completing their training the graduates work in small technical or industrial enterprises in single-part production.
Agitations:
- The manufacture of letters, writings, logos and figures made out of glass tubes by cutting and deforming in the flame
- Transforming drawings in front of the burner
- Installation of fluorescent materials
- Smelting elecrodes
- Evacuuating finished products and pumping them clean
- Filling glass tubes with noble gases

- Indication of neon tubes with correct datas
