Content and procedure

In the first year of training the apprentices learn for example:

• the characteristics of differnt kinds of glass
• what you have to consider during purification, melting and the manual process of hot glass
• how to make freehand sketches and convert them
• to handle the feedstock glass correctly and manufacture glass balls
• possibilities of deforming
• how to chip glass articles and cool them;

in the second year of training:

• how to arrange, roll and form glass portions on a glassblower`s pipe
• the rules of assembling different kinds of glass
• attaching glass portions on a another glass blank
• how to check and sort the products correctly considering their quality features
• the elimination of defects and their source

in the third year of training:

• how to complete a product
• how to form glass portions with swinging and dashing
• how to warm up glass again and overlay them with colored glass
• how to put on and cut the glass for shaft and bottom glass
• the possibilities of quality assurance
